Coaching is meaningful if you know where you are leading people to...
Starting something new is always uncertain, and coaching is no exception. In the beginning, it can feel like just a job to make a temporary living, and it slowly turns into a career even when you’re not sure where you’re headed. But it becomes truly interesting when you finally cross that bridge and step into the “calling” mode.
Good start with Sockers teams. Knowing the game as former pro player doesn’t give you any advantage when you’re coaching young players. Communication is everything, and a lot of the message gets lost in translation. This group went to the World Finals and advanced out of the group stage, playing against tough European teams that were a year older than them. Two players from that group went on to become pros: Michael McGee and Brian Plotkin.
Enjoying what you do may not make you successful, but for sure you'll make you happy!
